ALTEK BOARD HELP

Can anyone tell me what it means when my Altek board wont boot.   It flashes upto the point that the displays flicker then locks up.    Before replacing the power supply the game was bootin but flashed up all 8s on player one which i assumed was a preset highscore.

Check the voltages on the chips themselves - sounds like a connector issue to me.

Right ive narrowed it down to switch issues but i think there is a board fault???   If i removed j2 the board booted following clays guide i tested the switch matrix with the Playfield disconnected and when i activated some switches it activated 2 or 3 different switch numbers in the displays.   Also when a game is started the score outputs are wrong.   In test mode all displays work correctly.   

  Any ideas or does it sound like a fault with the new board?

It does sound like a board fault - they are not indestructible as I have found from experience!  Because you tend to use them for troubleshooting they get a hard life

The easiest way to test your theory is to put it in a known good machine and see how it behaves.

                This board is brand new and only ever been in this machine id never noticed the issue before as it was never playable

Have you tried a memory clear on the board (with the game select switches) Daniel?? Maybe give that a go.

Yeah i have tried that mitch with no luck
