kvm? i assume that is some type of monitor, if it is when the original monitor dies then yep but until then a standard vga monitor switch is the go.

Sorry, nerd slang for a KVM switch.  Allows two PC's to run from the one set of inputs & output (ie 1 keyboard/mouse/monitor between two computers).  Just flick a button to change.

as far the 2 pc's go with the selector switch, you would have no chance of any damage to the original setup

cool. but the only thing that we need to switch is the monitor.  we can buy an off the shelf monitor input switch.

It would really depend on the setup.

If its just a standard VGA cable from the monitor to the PC, and USB or PS2 keyb and mouse, then there is no reason why it would.

If its running something different then I probably wouldn't.  The KVM's are quite simple and share different computers between 1 keyboard and mouse.

On my desk at work, I'm running a MacBook Pro, 1 x HP laptop and 2 x other PC's all via a KVM to 1 x screen & keyb.

we have battle shark and starblade still sited local

they hit the bowling alley in the late 80's new and ive been playing them ever since. only the battleshark has moved about 50m from its first spot i ever saw it
