Not a SC justice I'm aware of. Maybe a non-legally qualified magistrate? They used to appoint magistrates who didn't even have a law degree back in the day, believe it or not.

The late Sir Oliver Gillard and his son the Hon Bill Gillard were Victorian SC Justices (1962 - 1978 and 1997-2007 respectively).

However I'll make no comment as to the veracity of the claims made.....

Granted the name, but as Bill Gillard is still alive, then that rules him out.
