Pinball Insurance
« on: September 11, 2010, 08:30:47 PM »
May have already been discussed im not sure but do you insure your pinballs on your home insurance.
A lot of people have a lot of money tied up in machines and im wondering is this something you need to declare or is it automatically covered for theft etc

I had to inform the insurance agents of the pin details and values and add them to my policy, as any single item over $1000 (I think  !@# ) has to be listed for cover.

You need it specified specifically on your policy. Alot of Insurance Companies I have spoken to have a issue with "coin operated" machines being commercial plant stock as opposed to a home furniture or home style product. Beware if it has a working coin mech.

Calculate ho much it would cost to replace all your games, I would say you would be under insured

Someone like Brett with so many machines has a small fortune in machines so i would expect that he would have to itemise each machine and his insurance would increase accordingly but someone like myself with only a few machines do they need to be itemised or are they automatically covered with contents i might ring my insurance company next week and check

I made out a list ready to hand over to the insurance mob to take out a separate policy , but the girl behind the phone said it wasn't necessary as it is covered in your home and content .Just make sure there is enough cover there  !@#

I had to list my pins separately, and the net extra cost for the added cover was $4 per week, less than a jug of beer at the pub

I also found that the best way was to have them as "Specified Items" on your policy and pay a few bucks more, or increase your contents cover to account for them in the total insured value........... I have been with the same insurance company for 20 years and they will cover them up to certain value ($1k) even if not listed separately.

My insurance company asked for a list of anything that I owned of value including serial numbers. I have a digital photo album of the machines also which has pics of all areas of the machines plus pics of the serial numbers etc .............. Saved on my computer on mine and the wife's keyring flash drives and a spare copy at mums and my brothers.... Can never get lost or damaged then ....
1up Promotions provide all your promotional items... from keyrings to banners to stubby coolers etc, etc..... Anything you need just PM.... (website coming soon)
