SAFETY SWITCHES WHEN SHOULD THEY TRIP?
« on: November 16, 2010, 11:15:30 PM »
Hey guys just curios we had safety switches installed a few months back and I've tripped them a couple of times tonight I got a decent thump from a machine but they did not trip????

One thing about tonight is the game was set up on the floor I've put my hand on the concrete to push myself closer to the interlock switch and it thumped me in one hand out the other should that have set off the safety switch????

By the way how many volts would-be at the interlock Switch on a gottlieb system 80a?    The hand on the concrete was the worst but because I was twisting funny my backs now killing me  %.%

If you are on the lower voltage side of the transformer when you got the belt you won't trip the safety switch as you are isolated from the mains of the house.

As per what Barren said, secondary side of the transformer won't show up as a loss in a residual current device.
RCD only reads current in and out of the primary winding.
Also, bear in mind  you can still get belt from active to neutral even with a RCD installed.
You can also get a belt of less than 30ma with a RCD installed, you will still feel it but it isn't enough to trip the RCD.
Lets go Brandon!
