Persistence has paid off & I finally sourced a trusted local vendor buying a new cnc. So as soon as it gets set up, it gets tested for playfield production. The plan is to cnc new playfields & make them the direct ink restoration way. This will be directed to very low production, & 1 - 5 at a time production. So it should open up all old playfields & low demand Gottlieb/other playfields from around the world. I will be showing new backglass/translite over the next 2 - 4 weeks. If the process works out the same for few or custom ones on demand. Barracora printed to tempered glass, & then a white vinyl layer with black blocking may be shown the end of this week.

Not sure youll ever get permission to reproduce GTB playfields with direct ink John... all GTB artwork is subject to copyright

I will post pictures of upcoming results. As for the questions on Gottlieb & restorations using direct ink. I will be asking again to try & do a Spiderman restoration as a test. I had no luck with Marvel about a license for new playfields. So we will see if I will be the first to get a Gottlieb restoration license & the go ahead for new Gottlieb playfields that don't require another license approval.

+2 for persistence!  Would you need any license if you were doing a restoration to an existing playfield?  Regardless, good luck!!
The ramp business was very very good to me.

Here is the petg test of Twilight Zone for WMS. A previous one on another plastic material was looked at. It wasn't the type they normally used, so now this one which is glossy on the back. I have been working on this with Illinois Pin Ball, earlier this year. Hopefully we are close to having the printing process excepted for translites. http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e28/greatwichjohn/Twilight%20Zone%20PETG/

I don't have a TZ to compare with your work John, but I really like the last image - deep colors.

Great progress. I hope this goes to market.

A test will be done over the winter/spring for Gottlieb rights owners, Bob Fesjian & Steve Young. I talked with both of them about 10 days ago for permission to do a test towards hopefully a Gottlieb license. I have found other contractor sources in my area to do the bulk of the technical work, & Mike at CPR has agreed to be my backup source if I need something done.

So I have 4 used Gottlieb playfields coming from the USA Friday or next week. I will choose one that I have new light lenses or that CPR has in stock. Then the art needs to be fixed up, cut file done, playfields cut, light lenses installed, do the playfields just like direct ink restorations.

They have requested 2 samples be done to gauge for their quality control. My goal is to hopefully do very small runs on demand, which have little chance of being done. So EM titles is where this is going to start.

I suspect the low run on demand approach might work well, and from a hobby point of view is a great thing as it might assist in keeping some games in once piece that might otherwise be parted out, a good result for people like Steve Young.

I am still looking for someone to step forward with an art package for Gottlieb test. It should not be a third party license title like Spiderman, Pink Panther, etc. I will compensate the person who can help me out. This has the ok from Bob Fesjian & Steve Young. I'm sure both would like to see a new source for replacement playfields. If you can help out please email me. It can be EM or Electronic pin title.
