DE Jumper Pin-out to suit Aussie power?
« on: April 06, 2011, 03:37:01 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have got a couple of Data East DMD machines that I want to check the transformer jumpers on, at the moment they are different to each other.  They both turn on but I would have thought they should be the same.

One is from the USA and the other from England.  Both only have one 8amp main line fuse whereas Aussie delivered machines have 2 x 4amp fuses??  Should they both be set the same as an Aussie delivered machine or does the lack of a 2nd fuse make any difference at all?

Any pics or help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

It is covered in Marvin's guide ;

http://www.pinrepair.com/de/index3.htm#convert

Now this has the pinout to convert TO USA power, but there's the correct jumper setting (3 to 9) for 220V. You will need to change the varistor if the USA game is set to 115 VAC.

Sorry - I don't have pictures  !!!

Thanks Nino.  I am not sure what has and hasn't been done to this machine and whether the varistor was changed previously.  I will check it out tomorrow.

One machine is set up as 215V and the other is 230V.  I will change it over to 230V but what would happen if it was left as 215V?
