Bally Dr Who Price
« on: May 04, 2011, 09:15:22 PM »
Hi,
I have a Bally Dr Who with no wear and in perfect condition, Except Cabinet... 1 ding about the size of 5c coin if that that is camoflaged. Plus cabinet is slightly faded.
How much would it be worth. I thought it was worth ~$4500
Is it?
The W is where it ding is
Sorry about camera washing out colour, most the white is yellow on cab. (Original Red has gone Yellow, Original Yellow has gone White)

$4500 is more of a dealer's price. You won't get that price in today's market.

At a guess (without seeing detailed photos of the playfield and it's playabilty), you would be looking at $3000 - $3400. Some may suggest less.

I think Doctor Who is one of those personal choice machines.
For me the translite is not that appealing, you could get a good price, you just need to find the right person, preferably a Doctor Who nut.

Have seen excellent examples with pretty good cabinets here in QLD for around $1800 straight from a container, dirty needing shopping, but a really good example.

Seen shopped nice examples go for $2200 to $2500. At one stage, a few different sellers up here had 4 or 5 each, with not much interest. Personally, I really like the machine and reckon the pinball promo factory video is a good watch.

In your part of the world, you would pay a bit more, so the $2700 would be right if the machine was A1.  Market has slowed dont forget ?

Aaah yes.. advertise one for $4700 ( far out that is waaaaay over priced!), then a potential buyer might think that the lower priced one is a bargain.
With faded cab etc, id say $2200 tops in todays market.... more likely sell for $1800 on Ebay

Its very rare to see a Dr Who with a beautiful colourful cabinet.

Allen Shoppes photo of one of his restorations has the best cabinet i have ever seen.

A couple have recently (well last 2 years) sold in sydney in the Low $2k range. A friend of mine was offered one that had been HUO for 10 years for $1000. He gave them $2k.
