Are there any Arcades Left anywhere?
« on: June 18, 2011, 04:33:56 PM »
Hi all

Yesterday I was down The Entrance, which is on the central coast of NSW, and came across an Arcade centre.
The old guy running it had 3 pinballs a few driving games, a dance machine and load of old 80's video games.

I am from Newcastle, and our 2 arcade centres shut down nearly 10 years ago, I am wondering if there are ANY Centres left anywhere? I know there are 2 in George st Sydney, and one in Brisbane. Does anyone know of any-more ????

There is a Huge Timezone up here on the Gold Coast at Surfers Paradise which usually has 4 or 5 latest STERN pinnys in there, plus every other imaginable arcade game and machine you could possibly think of.  The place is so cool for all kids of all ages. ( I only have played the pinnys whilst the kids wreck the rest of the huge place).

Apart from that, there is the occassional 1 or 2 x machine only situations here n there at the Picture Theatres or pub/club etc, but alas, very very few and far in-between.

Honestly, the best Pinball Arcades left in Australia today anywhere, are at Aussie Pinball Members houses.  Which, is a good thing .  ^^^ ^^^ ^^^

The one in Northland is currently closed for renovations or something.

There's a little arcade out at Epping Plaza. And yes, there was a pinball machine. Faulty, though (I turned it on to check).
