Hi Wotto,

Received your email with the attachment, and the spinner printout looks really good.  And you're quite right, the very little bits of detail (on the scale of the printout) are condensed to a level that you would never pick out the very small stuff.

Now, I take that this is to be printed on an adhesive backed paper, cutout, applied to the spinner, then covered with a clear adhesive (mylar, or other?).  What would you suggest to use for the adhesive paper, and where to buy (Officeworks?).  I've never had the need in the past to print something to adhesive paper.  I have a an ink jet printer at home, but am more inclinded to use the laser printer at work.

Many, many thanks again!  ^^^

No worries guys  :D

Steve - I use good quality photo card paper and then use a STRONG spray adhesive to glue it to the spinner.
Of course use mylar or contact over the top of the new artwork.

1%er Tip - paint the blank spinner before you glue the new artwork on  %$%

Hi Wotto

Could you post the RGB codes / HEX / pantone codes for the blue and red on the spinner design please so Steve and I can do a colour match for spinner paint job.

Cheers

Hey Steve
Check the video out, Surfer review and has a few snippets of spinner footage to aid in the restore.
Interesting review also.

Well I finally got around to doing the Surf Champ spinner.  Many thanks again to Wotto for the artwork, and Strangeways for the scan of the original spinner.

First step was to sand, prime, and paint the original spinner.  I found a spray paint colour very close to the background colour of the artwork at Bunnings.  Not an exact match, but very close and good enough for me.

After leaving the paint to cure for a good week, it was time to attach the artwork.  I ended up just simply using double-sided tape, so I first attached the double-sided tape to the back to the artwork, and covered the front with mylar.  I then cutout along the perimeter of the artwork, getting an exact cut for all three (tape, paper, mylar).  Then this was attached to the spinner.  The double-sided tape is very, very thin and very strong, we will see how it goes.

Lastly, the spinner was put back where it belongs, as part of my overall Surf Champ restore (which will be a thread in the near future).

Steve
Any chance you could share the artwork as the Surf Champ I recently aquired is in need of the correct spinner? Cheers.

Darren, as Wotto did the artwork, it would be a good idea to PM him for the details.  Cheers.

Looks good Steve, you have done well - did you put a clear over the artwork?

Hi Jady, no clear over the artwork.  I just attached mylar directly on the printed paper artwork, and it looks fine to me.  Hope that helps.
