Stern Meteor Flipper parts - where to buy
« on: November 15, 2011, 12:01:09 AM »
Hi guys,
Im still working through cleaning up the meteor. Just had to drill through the LHS flipper crank? !!! (pic attached) to get the flipper shaft out. Needless to say, I need to replace the crank and the flipper shaft. While im at it, i need to replace the flipper bats (I'll do all three).

My question is....
Is there an australian supplier that can supply these parts, I want to get the machine finished before christmas so I don't think the US is an option.

Thanks... John

I'd drop Greg at www.rtbb.com.au a line, but if no luck Terry at Pinball Life has them from the look of it and I suspect you'd have them in a week or so http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=catalog&parent=53&pg=1

Meteor (Stern) parts are hard to source, but follow Nick's advice and you will be fine.

Thaks for info guys, I chased up Terry at Pinball Life and was going to order these parts...
http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=2363&parent=53&is_print_version=true
http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=2364&parent=53

plus http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=269&parent=59&is_print_version=true

Problem is terry said these (Classic Stern Plunger, Link, And Crank Assembly) are for Stern after Meteor. I thought they would work. Anybody used these in the earlier machines.  If this doesn't work, I'll just run a tap through the old crank assembly and buy some bats from RTBB.

They look different, but will work fine!  Even the flipper bats would probably work, but are the wrong shape (Williams shape).  Buy some Bally flipper bats - they will work, but the grub screws will not match up with the groove, so unless you make a new groove in the right place, it can be hard to get the cranks off if you ever need to.
