Bally MPU KIT *Ready NOW* (VERY limited stock)
« on: May 16, 2011, 10:19:33 AM »
I am still waiting for some shipments of parts to allow us to assemble the majority of the kits but we have been able to get the ball rolling by getting together six kits - yes, only six at the moment. We have decided NOT to offer EPROMs as we are already stretching our time way too far and there are many others that can supply them programmed (skybeaux for one).

Here is the kit as it will be supplied:

This is the manual supplied on a T-Flash card with adaptor (50 pages with lots of pics to aid assembly and TONS of additional info - drawings - specs sheets for all parts etc):

Here is the small I.C.s "add-on" package which INCLUDES the Homepin 9602 replacement kit:

and here are the packs of RAMs and Micros if needed:

and the Supercap & spacer if desired:

Prices as follows:

Full kit as pictured includes all parts needed except ICs & Supercap (if required).

$129 inc registered post to any Australian destination.

Add-on pricing:

Small ICs package $24 ($12 if using a 6802)
6800 micro $10
6802 micro with crystal, spacer and 2 X ceramic caps $12
6821 $7 each (two required)
6810 $7 (not required if using 6802)
5101 $8
Supercap & spacer $9

Here is the SUPER DOOPER deal:

FULL kit of ALL parts - including all ICs everything needed except EPROMS:

6800 version (as original Bally/Stern board) $185 (inc reg post)
6802 version $170 (inc reg post)

Note that some parts are used (fully tested) such as 6800 and some 6810 as it is getting harder to find them new.

All kits are supplied with the remote battery plug & socket and the CR2032 battery & holder BUT if you wish to use a Supercap add $9 to the prices above.

As I said, there are six kits ONLY at this stage and I would prefer they went to people who are going to assemble them pretty well straight away rather than put them away for a rainy day. Also a limit of one kit per person at this stage. I'm not going to get involved in backwards and forwards-ing "are there any left?" etc - if you want one, PM me and the first 6 PMs - IN ORDER OF RECEIPT will get them.

I will then post saying there are none left. If I haven't posted that then assume there is one left and PM me to claim it. Please tell me what parts you would like with your kit (if any).

The prices are for bank deposit. PayPal attracts a 5% surcharge.

This project has taken an extraordinary amount of time and $$$'s so I really do hope it helps prolong the life of some of these machines or prevent them from being parted out.

Well done Mike

I will wait to to get some more kits done up as would like to put it together at a slower pace as mine is not required just yet.
Put me down for two complete full kits when you get the rest in Mike.

Cheers

Man that's great! Well done.
I'm just wondering why you take the time and spend the money putting the manual on a flash card rather than just uploading it once and noting a link to download it?
One other advantage of the upload is that any corrections can just be made so the most current one is what is available for download?

Not complaining. Just wondering.
I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here.

You have a valid point and we did consider that. The manual is not for 'public consumption' as we have spend days and days - actually weeks putting it together so that put us off making it available 'online'.

Secondly T-flash with adaptor and plastic case I can buy very cheaply as I have my own office right in the electronic markets in Shenzhen so that's not an issue.

Thirdly there are dozens of files included - pictures, schematics and even all of the ROM software for convenience.

Also it means a purchaser can view the manual straight away without having to be online.

A valid comment and we haven't fully discounted it.

Yea that makes some sense, especially if your cost is very low.
You've no doubt weighed things out much more than I ever will so there are probably reasons I wouldn't be aware of. But at first light I'm not sure what use your manual would be to folks other than those who have purchased one of your boards, so the proprietary cautions aren't connecting for me. Again, I know nothing and if you didn't have some good reasons I'm sure you wouldn't have needed to send the manual that way.

Having said that, IF there isn't significant material to protect, then having at least parts of the manual available for download might be good for marketing! Maybe that would be yet another thing to spend your time on - editing an abridged version of the manual to whet the appetite for potential customers. Browsing a nice manual is almost close to being able to touch and feel the board.

OK my work here is done. I've delegated homework to others like a good supervisor and now I can go take a nap. <.>

OK guys - one kit left.

I have made an error in the postage price but will keep all prices the same for this last kit.

After that all kits will be $10 more to cover the post.

Top quality Kit
a customer of mine needed a new bally mpu board so I bought one of these last week, I had it assembled and running in a day.

The solder through pads are the best that I have ever come across.

No parts missing or incorrectly supplied.

assembled it, powered it up and had 7 flashes on first power up.

Next time i need a bally mpu I will be buying another one of these boards.

Well done on an excellent product mike  ^^^

Thanks for reminding me Andrew, I need to order another kit.

I transferred my kit from the Viking to the Fathom, and it has been working without any issues for months now. Terrific product.
