Here is a rebirth that 50% looks nice - that is cabinet and backglass artwork looks nice but to then blend with a surfer playfield is just wrong.??????????????

I suppose it is the owner's right to butcher a machine as badly as this, but don't ask for $4500. It is not worth $450. Re badged machines are usually too far gone to restore to original condition, but what does surfing have to do with Hot Rods ?

It has a Bumper Action sticker on it. Interesting.

Saw that on ebay myself and just shook my head. If it was priced at its value now (ie under $500.00) might be worth it if the backglass could be located and a repaint as Surfer is a classic game. Somehow I suspect the backglass got sold off........ But i guess the customer would have gotten a credit for that anyways.

I thought it was interesting that they wont sell it for less than the build cost.
As it was built as an advertising, I would have thought that the cost to build was not an issue.
Its already paid for itself being an advertising item.

Saw this too... the SURFER PF is absolutely nothing to do with the pinball theme and looks totally out of place. Cabinet is fully decalled, so original artwork MAY still exist underneath but i doubt it.
Its a big project SURFER no more no less, as a rebadged pin its worthless to anyone other than the company that commissioned it.

I worked on this pin. The customer came to us with a Surfer that was painted blue and wanted it re themed for a hot rod club. Most important, the playfield was not touched, only cosmetics. A re-stencil,which it needed anyway,plastics and a backglass will return it back to original.

The work done to it is awesome, it's just the mix of surfer playfield and then the hotrod themed cabinet and playfield plastics is a little different. For the pinball collector who is going to pay $4500 and then find a bg (rare to find on it's own) and then re-stencil back. There was a surf champ local that was listed 2 times (at 30 days listing) on Ebay that didn't sell just 1 month ago.

I think only a surfie hot rodder would buy this. I would be tempted at 1200-1500 but no way at 4500.
