Almost beat the default high score
« on: February 14, 2009, 07:21:42 PM »
Gday all .
Was playing my Williams Trizone last night that I bought as a project machine and finally got running last year.
It's set on 3 balls per game and still has the default high score of 550,000.
I almost set a new high score last night , but missed by 10,000 (540,980).  !!!
Don't you hate it when that happens !
At least I finally clocked my Gottlieb Duotron a couple of months ago after 2 1/2 years of trying . %.%
I need more room ! and more $$$

It's like the 4 minute mile, once you conquer it, it'll be a piece of cake the next time. Nug set a high score on Asteroid Annie, and I played the thing for weeks and couldn't quite make it. Then that one good ball and I did it easily. Topped it a number of times after that pretty quickly.

So don't give up - it's all in the mind (unless you're our  "The game went into ball search" friend).

Yep, always a good feeling to get the high score. Love those triple credit pops! Even better if you are in a room full of people and they all turn to see who did it. (Actually, don't think that ever happened for me.)

Was playing a mini comp with my 15 yr old daughter the other nite (she is fiercely competitive too) .
Machine set on 3 balls per game .. best out of 5 games wins (per round) .. she won round one .. round 2 is down to her last ball .. which drains with me 2K in front .. and then Trizone serves up ball 4  !@#  , so we keep playing to see what happens .. machine just keeps serving up ball after ball .. obviously its forgotten the ball count .. turn off/ turn on and it only boots to Audit mode .. realised I hadn't changed the backup batteries for a while but can't understand how this would affect RAM when machine is running a game  !@#
Anyway , changed batteries and all is now OK

It's always the batteries. Rule #1: if the pinball machine starts doing weird stuff, check the batteries.

Normal for a sys4-6. Boot in audit mode when the battery goes flat !
