Auction has ended winning bid was $1211, there's been quite a few no sales on eBay lately at high prices, and items being relisted substantially lower

In general there has been a LOT of WAY overpriced games listed for sale recently on Ebay and elsewhere - and I mean WAY overpriced.
I have no idea why some people THINK thier games are worth SO MUCH - especially in this current economy !!@

very correct Wotto. I have an example below from someone who believes in Ebay prices.  @.@

I had a lady contact me about a FISHTALES she had in her family.
It had the typical badly faded cabinet everywhere. It needed fulll strip down and clean. It needed new rubbers everywhere, and everything checked over etc. The machine was playing/starting etc, but it had been sitting for several years in a back room. The playfield was fine.

I told her the machine was worth $1800 to $2200 as it was, and not a penny more. She said it was worth at least $4000 to $4800 because "thats how much they are on Ebay for". I told her nicely she was dreaming. I told her how I bought my FISHTALES for $2200 and it was immaculate and needed nothing except a re-decal.  The lady also told me her machine was very very rare and that they are so hard to find in Australia. I told her they made over 15,000 and it was a easy machine to purchase. I then asked her how much she paid for the machine. She said $1500. I said why are u stuffing me around and asking $4800 then ?  thats when I decided to say goodbye and hang up.   Ebay pricing for pinnys, yeh right.  @.@ @.@ %.% %.% %.%

That's the thing with eBay, you never know what will happen.
Sometimes it simply depends on what day and time it finishes.
How many people put ads in the paper wanting a fully running excellent condition machine for $500 to $1000?

I thought this machine would go cheap due to dark and limited photos, short auction run and my enough information explaining the problems it had. Freddy seemed to be a rarity a few years back, but it's becoming common now and is getting regular Gottlieb system 3 prices.

I am still cursing E-Go for losing my Freddy playfield!!!

Cheers!
Adam.

""thats how much they are on Ebay for""

That is 100% correct. That's how much they are LISTED on eBay by dreamers, but not how much the SELL for. So this lady should follow an overpriced auction and wait until the item sells and then gets relisted. These auctions are purely for suckers.

I can list a Fishtales for $4800 all day long and there will be no bids or interest.

Typical salesman con... list machine with BIN $3500... wait a day or two.... list same machine different pics starting price $2500... suddenly $2500 looks like a bargain. If you can get the listings one page apart, its a very effective way of selling a machine for the price you actually want
