A new old pin day tomorrow
« on: February 23, 2013, 09:00:27 PM »
Well another year older today and was itching for a pin.

I was supposed to get a Avengers Pro a few weeks ago but due to some rocky times ahead with work I just could part with almost $7k (due a few extras). I was keen on a AP members BoP or Fishtales but he was not ready to sell as yet so came across a pin that I have played sited ages ago and didn't mind it. The cabinet and backglass artwork has a high cringe factor for many but in the 80's surfing and checking out girls Baywatch was the show to watch so I bought myself a Baywatch this morning as gift to myself. I still surf so the pin will fit nicely into our little beach house.

I got it for $1900 plus another $100 delivered to my door tomorrow morning at 7am from Sydney so I am very happy. I spoke to the owner and the playfield is in really good nick and cab is faded (which is pretty much standard) and most important the dmd is 100% working only a little bit of wear near the drop holes and a few broken plastics.

So tomorrow having a family get together and another pin to play  #*#.

What to do to it:
- Bay Amusements have a full set of plastics so happy there as will replace all cracked plastics
- has partial leds so will go full leds
- I have a set of silver Stern mirror blades left from my run so hoping they fit nicely into the Sega's as heard they do so in the near future when I do a shop out I will put in a set of blades
- change the rubbers to white as well as some flipper bats and rubbers.

so still got a heap of money left to cover myself incase the job ends to cover the mortgage and a new pin to enjoy which probably can be sold for very similar money if I had to.

Surprising thing is I showed my wife first before I committed myself and she said go for it which just makes it a little better.

Great news on adding a Sega with a huge Dot matrix display to your collection. Will fit in well with your surfing and beach lifestyle.

Congratulations and Happy birthday - great way to celebrate it.

Good to see you still being able to pick up a new title even if it's not the one you originally planned on.

Happy Birthday Swinks!!

You've done well with that game - for a Sega it plays very well indeed - just got to avoid looking at the translite - that David Hasselhoff  image rivals Shadow!

Lots of good shots, I quite like this game. Haven't played it long, but believe the ruleset is pretty good and quite deep? Great flow from memory. Bit of a bargain for game play compared to similar vintage games.
