OK, UPDATE re Ebay Advert about machines from $3,999

I spoke to the business owner today on the telephone.

The $3,999 price is for a Transformers pinny machine only. It doesnt come with warranty (none of the machines do) but it is a BNIB machine, purchased from a USA dealer. These machines are USA built, meaning they wont work in Australia because of the 50 cycle, which means a computer board mod needs to be made, which can cost between $150 and $300 depending who u buy the mod from, and it is unknown if that mod will work on the latest Stern boards with the latest software ??

The other machines are effectively, and I quote, $500 cheaper than what the Australian importer charges, so he gave me an example, and said instead of $6200 for a Avengers, it would be $5700 and u pick it up from his warehouse a few hours out of Sydney, or he can ship to you for a fee etc.

Effectively, you are saving a maximum of $500 only on some titles, and the machine does not come with warranty cause the gent has no pinball fixing experience, and then u have to overcome the wrong power cycle board issue. Once that is addressed (if) and the board mod paid for, u are only saving a few hundred dollars compared to going to Bruce, so to me, its not worth it at all, because I want warranty, and I want a machine built for Australia.

My conclusion, stick with Bruce from AMD, you get warranty, peace of mind, and a machine designed n built for Australia.
I wanted this new lead to work out, but the from $3,999 only applies to one Transformers title, but not all the others.
I will be sticking with AMD, I see no benefit at all with the ebay seller.  ^^^

Yep. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. I wouldn't risk blowing my money for the sake of a possible saving of $500.
