Anyone used Sega Resurrection ??
« on: July 25, 2013, 07:04:01 PM »
Trying to get my Sega Super Hang On working and after researching looks like I need a new non suicide Hitachi processor.
Tracked down a site called Sega Resurrection which has a kit I need comprising new processor and eproms.
Did a little research on this and found some old posts from 2012 where people were having trouble contacting the site owner so not sure if they are still around.
Anyway emailed them the other day but no reply so far. Just wondering if anyone knows of this site.

Cheers

Ric

Not sure mate, as I understand it (and I don't really) the processor has what is called a suicide battery, once the battery dies there is a small amount of saved code that gets lost.
There is a work around where someone has reverse engineered the processor and they give you this plus some new eproms and bobs yer uncle.
Still haven't heard back from Sega Resurrection :(

Yeah I know, the roms are patched to run without the extra code, not sure if the MAME roms are patched so they can work with MAME.
I used MAME roms when I did the freeplay mod on my Outrun

Just an update

Got an email from Chris at Sega Ressurection, apologised for taking so long to answer. Asked me a couple of questions about the eprom numbers at IC118 and IC133. Gave him the numbers.
He came back and said the kit is $40 including postage.
Very reasonable I thought so I paypaled him the funds and now waiting to receive the kit.

Hope it works
