Adams Family Questions?

Always been interested in TAF but just have a couple of Questions:

Would this game be classed as "slow"

How much for real nice restored game?

And any issues I should look for?

Whats a better game CFTBL or TAF

Does anyone have a nice one for sale?

Addams is a fast game if reconditioned correctly. I know what you mean about the game being "slow". I refer to this as being "sluggish" more than "slow". The game in the video looks slow because I don't think the pitch is set correctly. I look for a few key indicators ;

1 - Pop Bumpers - there are 5 pops that can add serious speed in that area. Rarely are these removed and replaced with new parts above the playfield and rarely are the moving parts checked for broken yokes etc.
2 - Ramp - check where the ball does a 180 degree turn. Often cracked or broken. i have seen some repairs that basically slow the game down in that area
3 - Bookcase - is it level with the playfield ?
4 - Flipper coils - VERY common to see games with the wrong coils. This affects the speed.

I've sold restored Addams from between $5800 - $6400 - these included new flipper kits, full rebuild of the playfield, new PinballInc / RTBB Ramp and buffed / waxed playfield.

TAF and CFTBL are both very good games. I can't say TAF is definitely a better game.

I don't have any at the moment.

I definitely wouldn't consider it slow.   
I'd guess $5500 - $6500 for a restored game but I couldn't be sure as I'm one of these people that enjoys fixing pins equally as much as I enjoy playing them, therefore I rarely buy 'restores'  And we all how weird the pin market can be from week to week.

Although I don't mind TAF, I certainly don't see why it gets the hype it does and personally, I'd choose CFTBL anyday. It'd have to be one of my favorite DMD games.  Tis very challenging!

Peter - most of the dealers will have them in stock. They are very common. For the amount produced, not many change hands once in collections.

gunna stick my head up & say TAF is a Trophy pin IMO  , very nice to play for short blasts, great for the family & friends to play, they don't have to know the rules, smack it around having fun & a Laugh, call outs are C@@l, MB comes easier enoff, sorry TAF doesn't keep me coming back like it did in the early 90's, don't get me wrong luv the theme & pin don't really think it worth the dollars asked, wont find a very nice one under 5k, above average condition 6+ IMO,
2 X bally/Wms for 1 TAF, all the best with what ever you get 

i guess you have to own one once in your life

This game robbed me of my pocket money weekly back in the early 90's but for some reason it has left a permanent warm feeling in my heart. Would love to own one some day.
Definitely has one of the best backglasses on any dmd machine.

TAF is sooo much better than creature IMO.

TAF is Just a cool looking and playing pin. The audio is sooo fun. People hang onto them. A restored one is just beautiful. Creature is worth half the price.
