tape to use for backglass lift trims
« on: February 09, 2014, 04:57:58 PM »
Have a couple sets coming but think I'll need the tape to hold them on. Is it double sided and what width? Also is it only used to hold the bottom lift or on the top and side trims as well? Thanks guys

Yes - double sided tape. Width doesn't really matter but rule of thumb with anything like this is less = more so 10mm max id say. BUT!!!!! Make sure you put it on the glass side of your BG only.. youll find that at factory they often put it on the back and it kills the artwork when removing.
No - don't put it on the side trims.. these just sit there

3 small pieces will be enough.. sides and middle. Doesn't have to be structural, its just to hold it in place

Really quick question before I go for brokes. Do you just put take in small pieces at say the ends and a couple of mid points or one long piece along the trim. Also do you put it on the glass first or the trim.

Finally I have 12mm is that too big?

Thanks, I just got my trim so I'm ready to go as we speak.

LOl- put it on the glass.. lot easier that shoving down inside a trim.
12mm is OK.. so long as its not wider then the trim.. can always slice it in half if need be

yep cut it in half, and put it on the trim and kinda did like I do on side rails where I start at 90 degrees and then fold it in place. I'll try your way on my species. Thanks a lot Gav
