Classic Stern dodgy transformers

Looking on ebay this arvo and saw this:

Says it has a dead transformer, I have personally seen this twice on old Sterns, one on a Trident and one on a Magic.

Anyone else see this with the old Sterns?
Was the quality of the Stern transformers a bit poor compared to Bally's transformers?

No doubt, but not the point I was trying to make.
Pretty rare for a transformer to cook, but I know of three old Sterns including this one.

I have been collecting and restoring classic Sterns for over 10 years and am yet to see a dodgy transformer.  None for Ballys either.  I have put connectors on wrong and had wax leaking out as they overheat, but they have always survived

 I would not put too much faith in an Ebay sellers diagnosis either.

I would think you would need to dead short them for a significant period to blow them??
