starwars Episode 1 Jedi fight issue
« on: November 09, 2014, 08:16:58 PM »
Hey guys thought I would start a new thread for this issue.
I had a friend come over and play my swep1 and as he got Jedi lit up and started the fight, he accidentally got two balls in the shooter lane so he couldn't launch them. Surely this should not happen. Unfortunately in this more unless you manually shoot the balls in play they will just keep going into the shooter lane causing this issue.

any suggestions ??

Dunno if you have a problem or just a thing that happened. If I go this situation, I would slam the plunger with a closed fist and he force would get on if no both balls launched. You don't need to hit it that hard. Maybe the spring on the plunger is worn or incorrect as i reckon it shouldn't be difficult to launch a ball normally with two balls in the race

Ok but does your machine allow the two balls to be launched into the shooter lane? I wouldn't have thought the game would allow that. I was thinking maybe I am missing a part or something.

I will definitely loom at replacing the spring as I can say that we had no hope getting the balls launched when there were two of them

Have u got the latest software running in the game.

I have heard of SW Ep 1 launching multiple balls incorrectly during some modes due to a few programming mistakes.
The latest software should rectify the problem. That's what I did on my SW Ep 1 game. Hope it helps.

I was assuming your friend plunged the first ball and it didn't make it, meanwhile the second was ejected.

Sounds like an opto or switch problem. Go into the switch test and check that all are working correctly. Thats where I would start.s pro. Older games behave like this when there is an extra ball in the trough that shouldn't be there. That's if I understand your problem correctly.

Ok this is getting strange. bare with me as I try to describe it.
I have the chip replaced on the board as suggested.
I connect t the transformer to the tube and playfield but the tube only lights up with one wire connected and when b the other wire touches metal (it accidentally touched the side rail)
do I have a grounding issue or am I connecting it incorrectly.  When I connect both wires from the transformer to the playfield connector I get nothing.
pictures are of the playfield connector which I made up and the connection of the neon
