Lost cabinet keys
« on: April 28, 2009, 10:32:49 PM »
Im looking at buying a project machine Bally Midway but the current owner cant find the cabinet keys.
Besides drilling out the locks is there any other way of opening the machine

Thanks

Front door can often be carefully jemmied with a large screwdriver with no or minimal damage (the lock usually breaks at the screw).  You may find a backbox key inside.

With the backglass they can sometimes be forced out by pushing up hard, but drilling is preferable.

Also, check they have not put the keys in the coin return for safe keeping :lol

cheers

Works every time. Find the strongest screwdriver and use a shifting spanner or large pliers near the head and twist.

All keys will be different.

The only difference will be if during the Operation of the pinball, the locks may have been changed to be the same so the Op had one key to open all machines.

If they were keyed alike you could play for free any time you saw a Bally pinball machine, once in possession of a set of keys.
