Bally Wizard playfield lights out
« on: April 16, 2017, 06:31:08 PM »
As per the topic I've lost all lighting to the playfield. Backbox is not affected. I assumed it would just be a fuse but doesn't appear to be. Any advise would be appreciated, thanks.

So fuse is ok,? Remove fuse and do Continuity test with multimeter.
If good . Leave fuse out , meter each side of fuse holder , with one lead of the multimeter on the stapled lamp wire. One side should have voltage.
Not familiar with Bally em, but would assume voltage to be 6.5v Ac.

May also have an under playfield fuse as well as the cabinet fuse.

Thanks Dan. I've found I don't have continually on the fuse holder. Are these EM holders available anywhere? It's a block of 4 in this game.

So no continuity with fuse in?
May need just cleaning or bend the holder  a little so it's tight on the fuse.

Yes, no continuality with the fuse in.

I ended up replacing the fuse holder and for the playfield lights and that brought back all the GI and some but not all of the feature lights. I'm wondering if something is shorting somewhere. I've recently added new globes under all the feature inserts, maybe I've upset something?
