Pinball spare parts
« on: September 11, 2009, 09:19:40 PM »
Just for fun, would love to hear what people have for spares that they reckon 'hell would have to freeze over' before they'd ever have to use them.

Quickly thinking of my case, I have 4 ToM trunks as spares. I replaced my original shortly after buying the game and its still good. So I think my machine will be about 100YO before I go through all my trunks.

The other would be the main metal bracket that the trunk sits over. I'm sure if I take a hammer at my machine, this part will be needed  %.% %.% %.%
Still loving my Metallica Premium

A few spare AFM martians - the rubbery ones are so rare that I kept buying the odd one as it came up, and a BBB playfield.

I have two NEW Bally stepper units for a Bingo machine - They are circa 1955 - So they are at least 50 years old - Genuine, still in their box.

I have Bingo machines to restore, but they are YEARS from being restored at the rate I'm going !

One NOS FT slingshot plastic. The machine came with 3 NOS ones, and 4 broken ones.

I just make a list a month in advance for each PBR order and update it at work each time it changes.

Just finished the next order and it came to US$600 and had to cut back!

Lucky the dollar is happy against the greenback

Order once a month and have orders in advance in Word docs 4 months in advance

My biggest problem is collecting/hoarding pinball electronics from late 70s thru 80s.  From complete boards, to individual ICs.  Think I must have most components to rebuild just about any board CPU, Driver, Sound, Power Supply etc... and from all manufacturers Bally, Williams, Gottlieb, Zaccaria, Stern

And it just keeps growing

Actually, machine really did get rained on, the fellow in the states did load a video on google/youtube, i dont buy anything hot cause i work in the security industry and i cant handle thieves.  *.*
see

The story goes that a mechanical car performance firm had it in their lunch room as their pride n joy.
The firm was moving premises, left the pinball machine n other stuff outside waiting for the next truck load, when the heavens opened up and the machine got totally drenched. The owner put it out for rubbish collection day when the arcade operator drove past n enquired n picked it up literally for zero.the playfield was rooted but all else was fine.  ^^^

i got the various spares from this guy, glow balls elsewhere. no hot stuff for me !

Fair enough about not handling stolen goods, Being ex-military I cant stand thieves either. Congrats on the cheap parts, always nice having plenty of spares in the shed, (my wife does think so however).  %$%
