old 60,s williams sheared gear in stepper unit

 &^&I have a couple of old williams machines with some teeth missing off the cog in stepper units, is it a common problem?Is it possible to move the cog around the other way? thanks -bill *)*

Take a look in the 101 section i did a thread on rebuilding steppers i rebuilt a gottlieb but willeams are very similar
