Gottlieb SURFER problem.
« on: October 26, 2009, 06:06:23 PM »
Hi all the EM Experts - Another problem I need help -Simon (Yourdreamin) is waiting patiently to have it back fixed.

Originally machine was dead -Have got to the stage of starting it up - This what happens :
1) Turn machine on - All lights illuminate including Tilt,Game Over,Match Number.  #*#
2) Press the Start Button - Begins to reset  #*#
3) All Targets Reset  #*#
4) Score Wheels reset to zero ,Ball kicks out OK  #*#
THEN
KEEPS SCORING 100's CONTINUOSLY - BONUS LIGHTS FLASHING - BONUS UNIT IS ACTIVATING and STOPS TURNING on a certain part of the gearing (Refer Pict) -After it stops here the Bonus unit coils are still firing,100's still scoring. NOT SURE IF THE TEETH ARE SHEARED or is how the gear is made? Refer Pict - Any theories out there ?  ^&^
Kev

I think the bonus unit is ok - they do "miss teeth".

Sounds like the 100 point relay or a 100 point switch is continuously closed.

Well this was the problem finally solved  $#$ - Refer the pict attached -Even though the end contacts are open, the thick blade was touching the opposite thin blade closing the circuit and activating the 100,s. Lesson I learnt -CHECK THE WHOLE SWITCH AND ALL THE BLADES  ^&^
