I saw Deep Purple at the Palace Nightclub, was an awesome show, the venue gave it a pub band like feel, up close and personal, very cool

seems to be a preference for KISS and AC/DC,  AccaDacca ok, especially the glam era!
for me best gigs was,
1. the Cult, Thebarton theatre, late 80's
New order, late 80's (very loud) again Thebby
stray cats this year again at the Thebby...

2.worst gig(for me), although a good band, Mickey Finn, early 80's at the findon, my sister took me when i was a 13 year old skin head, ha! full of bikers, never been so scared in my life!
any of the PONDE experiences, bad acid, wrong sort of crowd, smoking strange herbal concoctions

3. would have loved to have seen the Beatles, or Elvis (fat and skinny).

Oh can't just name one of each, have been to so many gigs since 1980...have to add some more here - have over 700 hard rock/metal CDs in the collection....love my music  

1. Best gig - suppose your first live gig is special and KISS in Sydney in 1980 was up there....so was their 1995 tour after waiting 15 years for them to return. Also both Queensryche tours (my all time fave band) - getting to meet them all 4 times over those tours and having front row centre both Sydney gigs.....and meet and greets. What a great bunch of guys! Alice Cooper - every tour since the Trash tour of 1990 - every gig since, just like a kid have lined up over night to get front row tickets and have the pleasure of meeting him twice (really cool dude). Special mention to the mighty Iron Maiden tour in 2007 - what do you say Wotto?  

2. Worst gig - besides Def Leppard in 1992(?), Poison would have to rate pretty high - was pissed and they still sucked!

3. Band you wished you had seen live but was unable to - have been lucky enough to see every band that I'm 'into' over the past 30 years, so the only other one would be AC/DC with Bon.

Let's see...

#1 - A tie. I sat 5th row floor, seats 1&2 for Billy Joel and Elton John Face 2 Face this year in Indianapolis, IN, and sat 2nd row floor seats 1 & 2 for Weird Al Yankovic last year on July 3rd in Louisville, KY. I listen to a LOT of music, but those are my 2 favorite concerts. I've seen Al 5 times now, Billy and Elton 3 times, and just Billy once.


#2 - Worst absolutely had to be 'N Sync' - I had to go to this show with the wife to get her to go to our first Billy & Elton concert - after the first show, though, she will go and see Billy and Elton anytime!


#3 - Show I wish I'd gone to? The Billy Joel Y2K concert on 12/31/99 in NYC. I'm an IT guy, and no matter how hard I tried, there was no getting off work on 12/31/99 because of Y2K. So, I spent that new years eve at work watching nothing happen :)

1. Best gig - Would have to be a tie between three for me with front row standing room tickets to the ACDC Thunderstruck Tour a number of years ago, followed by front row tickets to Paul McCartney both at the Perth Entertainment Centre and the Chisel Reunion Concert at the the Burswood Dome (first reunion tour).

Best gig: Going to have to be a pain here and name 2. Firstly the Daft Punk Alive tour back in Melbourne was AMAZING, simply a brilliant experience I will ever forget. Secondly the first 'Farewell' tour by KISS in 2000 or 2001? Was the first concert i ever went to and I was only 13 - so many good memories.

Worst Gig: My mum bought me tickets to go with her to an Usher concert at Hisense arena on my birthday. The guy didnt actually sing a single song, rather he just kept calling out to the 'ladies' who in term screamed and cried like nothing ive seen before. Worst birtday ever...

Band i would love to see but couldnt: Not a band so much as a concert. I would love to have been at Woodstock with Jimmy Hendrix - I really feel i was born in the wrong decade - i dont care for the music people my age are supposed to love. If i had to name a specific gig i would love to see, would certainly be Queen: Live at Wembley - what an epic performance!

Best concert---I was a young tacker(14). A friend of mine purchased 4 tickets to a band that were slowly becoming popular in the early 80s.  I really didn't know any of their tunes at all, so he gave me a tape of one of their albums to listen to a week before the gig.

I played that tape over and over,  and really dug the songs. Arrived at Wrest Point Casino's new function centre and waited for them to come on stage. They came on an hour late, which just built the anticipation to some pretty high levels. And then they busted out with.......ORIGINAL SIN!!!!

I have to say, Inxs performed flawlessly and sounded very sweet.

Worse gig----The Whitlams...zzzzzzzzzz

The one i regret not seeing was the Bee Gees,   had the oppertunity but passed on it.  I bought the dvd of that tour and it was awsome,  with only 2 left, it wont be the same.
