Another issue with the repros seems that quite a few showing dimpling quite quickly (as seen on lots of Stern games). I found this on the AFM playfield right away - there's more craters than the real Mars now! FH has less, but there is still some evidence. Neither of the original playfields had any dimpling to speak of although they were in the games 10 or 15 years, on site etc.

Maybe the originals were just pounded flat and dimpled evenly everywhere?

If I pull a playfield from a WPC game and buff it out with the Treasurecove kit, you can see lots and lots of dimples if the angle catches them right.

I consider the dimples a fact of life, now if it were a huge crater, I suppose I'd feel differently.
