VERY RARE. SEEN THESE B4 ? GLOW IN THE DARK
« on: January 06, 2010, 10:37:45 PM »
They belong to my 1998 Sega Viper Night Drivin Pinball Machine. Only 1100 Vipers were made. These balls are like Rocking Horse Sh@t. Crazy $ if u can find them. Took me along time and ALOT of $$$$.
The balls are the same size as a standard silver pinball (also pictured for comparison).
The glow balls weigh 65 grams. A std ball weighs 80 grams.

The glow balls are steel inside with a lime/yellow powdercoating.
The Viper pinball features the only blacklights on a pinball machine and when the playfields standard coloured lights go off, and the blacklights are the only lights on, the magic glow balls light up and look t-rriffic. Because the balls are lighter, the game is brutally fast.

Anyway, something different to share !  ^^^  This paticular video doesnt really do the glow balls justice. It needs to be dark with no natural light or room lights on.

check out a video someone posted on the net.author unknown. youtube video below.

Way cool Caveman! ^^^

Do all 4 ball's go in pin or is it a mix of steel and glo balls?

What's the life span of the ball's?Would suck if you only get 500 games out of them (for the cost)

Is there a time in the game that there's only blacklight on though?.  In the video, there's always GI and flashers happening which seems to kill the effect somewhat.

Pretty sweet!

4 glow balls only are factory installed.

they last forever but need cleaning cause under playfield grease sticks to them easier than a steel only ball.

these balls are rare cause most operators took them out of the machine to save cleaning issues/or did not know about them and just stuck to silver.

the video i posted seems to have a different rom, earlier version.
my pin has the blacklights come on only half of the game (during multiball) and playing the game is literally like being in a black n white world with no colour. it is absolutely amazing and you have never experienced anything like it. sooner or later, when i have my 50 pins set up (alot more to buy yet), we will hold the countrys largest pinball/piss up meet and anyone can experience the viper. the audio is set to adult, which is programmed specifically for probably the naughty euro market. the chick who appears on the playfield is in the back seat of the car in the story line "having hard n fast fun", put it that way.

this machine cranked up is the bomb. a 900 horse power V10 witha moaning chick. it doesnt get better.

EB, as for more photos of the collection, still setting everything up after the house move, but will take a HD video when i finish the set up.  ^^^

That's a mad looking machine!

From IPDB:

Toys:    Black Light feature for "Night Drivin". Animated Racoons.

What's with the Racoons?  :lol :lol :lol
Why is it called PMS?
Because "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken...

the racoons jump up and down and u have to hit both the left and the right with the balls to kill them.

it simulates driving along the road and running things over in the viper, turning anything living into roadkill. gee the yanks love killing animals !

the racoons make this annoying noise to shit you (it works i can tell ya) so u hit them to kill them and shut them up !

great fun game.

I've seen the glow balls, they sure do get dirty - but apparently the demand for those is always larger than the supply. I'm not sure I've ever seen any for sale!

A friend of mine is a VND fan, and he says the game is very different (and better!) with the latest ROMS - so if you're behind, update it.
