IJ cleanup and repair.
« on: April 15, 2010, 10:37:40 PM »
Sort of new here. Anyway I have been asked to clean up and repair an IJ and Demo Man for a bloke in town here. In exchange for fixing up these machines the guy has told me I could have his old TZ. Sounds like a good deal to me. All three machines have been sitting in a shed, gathering dust for at least the last few years. The IJ had the glass removed and was pretty dirty. Someone in the past has tried to get the machines going again but was technically challenged to say the least. As a result all three machines are missing display driver boards and the Demo man is missing the CPU board. The CPU in the TZ had some battery damage. Anyway here are the before photos of the IJ. I will post more pictures as I go. I'm very open to advice as I believe that you never stop learning.
Cheers,
Dan

Fliptronics board was removed, but it was there.

More to follow.

GREAT deal to score the TZ.

I tried to embed the pictures in your post, but for some reason, it would not allow it

Filthy ... But looks like it will clean up smick .

1 piece of advice - Install a led kit for the Path of Adventure ( see my avatar ) . Makes a huge difference to any IJ pin . They were / are available from AskJacob on AA .

Spent much of the last couple of days stripping the playfield, cleaning parts generally tidying up the machine. I have remoted the battery off the CPU, which I do on all games I get.
Below are a few pics of the progress so far. My tumbler is getting a workout at the moment.
Regards,
Dan.

That layer of dust is more of a protective coat !

Coming along nicely - love the colors on the playfield.
