WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A WILLIAMS SYSTEM 3 - 6 LOCKS UP
« on: June 18, 2010, 03:58:26 PM »
Hey guys strange question but time warp is still beeing a bitch.     When a williams game locks up what happens????

I played time warp for about 10 games without an issue my brother came over and the first game he played the ball drains then nothing happens the switch and diode are fine and was to late to pull the glass off.

nothing happens how?

did the machine recognise the drain as in record the score/bonus and then not shoot the next  or did it just hang as if the ball was still in play

what happens when you re-boot?

Interconnects
cap on the power supply
Bad ROMs

Since I think you have aready covered this - I'd keep playing it and see if there is something that triggers the "lock up". If it locks up after a ball drain - then that makes sense !

The ball drains and nothing happens doesnt give the bonuss or anything.  Will have a look at it tomorrow.   This machine has New Interconnect male and female all new PIA chips and sockets all new chip sockets on the CPU all new caps on the power supply every time i fix something another thing fails LOL

Will have it sorted before the weekend is over

I have precisely the same problem on one of my machines - in my case it is dodgy 9 pin connectors where the switch matrix plugs onto the driver board. I've come to the conclusion the only way I'm going to obtain reliability is to completely repin every connector.  Pretty easy to do, but not a lot of fun and time consuming.  BTW the ones in mine are IDC connectors, which may be worse than standard ones.

I admire your optimism  %.% - At best I'd put it that you may have moved on to the next problem  :lol
