Been Blown Away Lately ?
« on: August 25, 2010, 04:26:55 AM »
Can u think of a pinball machine that you have played, which actually blew you away and totally surprised you ?  !@#

Have you played a machine at a friends place or someone you have visited which impressed you so much you now want to buy that title ? Got any pins/titles in mind ?
OR it can be the opposite, you played a machine and actually didnt like it at all ?   got any great or yuk titles in mind ?

For me, I played a Indianna Jones and loved the experience. I also played a Addams Family and loved it as well. I found turning the volume up on the Addams really increased the fun of the game.  ^^^

Any titles come to mind. ?

Also, I have listed Getaway-High Speed 2 as a machine I havent played yet but am looking forward to getting my hands on one to try.  !@#

Played Black Rose on the weekend at Nugs. It had sat there for years waiting for parts, and looking at it from time to time I thought it looked pretty average.

Loved it!!  $#$

He tweaks his games very nicely and gets the most out of any title, but I really enjoyed the shots and the music etc.   The theme is a bit meh, but overall I was impressed.

As for Indy, I bought one for a mate and shopped it out for him while we awaited Christmas, and was happy to see it go. Also couldn't sell my TZ quick enough. Maybe it's WMS widebodies I don't like, seeing as I can't get into STNG??

I've played Matt's (KTM450) HS2, and do think that's a really nice game.

Big Hurt

I never heard of this title until I went to bumper action & there was one on the floor
ended up playing this game for almost 2 hours & didn't play any other games
great baseball theme with commentry & music from espn baseball telecasts
has ramps which raise up to allow the ball to be hit for home runs & with a moving glove which tries to catch you out while trying to hit homeruns, lots of fun & very addicitive
definitely want to get one

I've never really been able to get into IJ either for some reason.
A pin that really suprised me awhile back was playing Nugs 'Al's garage band goes on a world tour' I can't remember ever playing one of the few Alvin G titles made, but this is a really fun game, cool music, a great drum solo vid mode, and some great features such as the flipper buttons that push back against your fingers at certain times through the game. Very cool  ()
Also enjoy playing Nicks AFM, gotta love those martians, one of my favorite games of all time, just wish I had the money to own one

I bought a "Independence Day" (Sega 1997) from Mark, and since I have had it apx 5 months or so, I have only played it a handful of times because i have been slack and havent given it the full treatment (cleaning playfield, correcting leg length/playfield angle etc)
BUT I was very surprised last night when I cranked up the volume and watched the light show during multiball and heard the F-18 Super Hornet Jets screaming accross the dotmatrix. The fighter jet noise is spot on and I havent heard another pinball with such excellent jet fighter plane noises before.  ^^^ ^^^

Will Smiths voice and Jeff Goldblooms voice is all over the audio and it really makes the game. Also, u can upload a computer virus to the Alien mother ship (along with lots of other cool stuff) when sinking a ball into a pop-up shot which is really cool. Over all, the jet fighter noise would blow anyone away !  ^^^
