Hi Damien

can be a lot of things, most beyond my expertise!  Did the sustain work before the fault occurred? Or before you replaced the caps?

One simple thing you can try is reseating the connector on the sound board and J3 on the solenoid driver board.  I once tried all sorts of things on my Paragon sound board when it was playing up only to 'fix' the issue by reseating J3 on the SBD ^&^

good luck
Ian

In addition to Ian's recommendation - measure the trimpot's resistance to see if it is working or not.

Hi Damien,

Does the tune almost play but just one or more notes are incorrect? Is so, I have had boards with U1 4049 or U2 4042 cause this fault.

Also dry joints on the back of the header pins can cause the same fault.

Do you still have plenty of volume even though the sustain is faulty?

regards Derek

Do the solder joints on the back of the sound card headers look OK?

One of the chips sounds like it has gone faulty , but can't say for certain which one.
You could send to me to repair or i could sell you the chips if you want.....i have all of them.
