LEDs not working
« on: November 07, 2010, 09:45:18 PM »
I've put some LEDs (tried both home made and commercial ones) around the top of the ring in my LOTR, these LEDs work both ways (ie:180 degrees) in all other sockets in the game, and other normal 44 bulbs work fine in the sockets around the ring, yet no LED will?

Please explain or help....

I,m not familiar with LOTR and the operating voltages of the bulbs in around the top ring. Suggestion, I would firstly determinre the operating voltage of the bulb sockets and their polarity + / - (bulb housing and terminal) using a multi meter. Following this, power the LEDS with the same voltage and polarity to determine that they are working.

I'm under the impression that older and cheaper led's won't work in controlled circuits, only GI applications. The better/newer one's have circuitry so its not an issue. Will the led's work on any other controlled circuit sockets?
