pinball string

Does anuone know exactly what kind of string is used on pinball wiring? It's the string used to tie together all the wiring both in the cabinet and inside the head. It's kind of 'waxy' and soft, but very strong and lasts for a long time. I'd like to buy some new, but don't know what it is or where I might get it??? It is still available but im not sure where from!
 I had to learn how to do this a few years back to get a QLD electrical licence... must admit, made me laugh when i was being taught cos all i could think of was EM wiring

In the old days - It was kmow as "pig gut string". Used to be miles of it in Bingos. Have no idea if it is still available (or even called that) !

It looks suspiciously like what was used to bind the end of fibrous ropes. This stuff I knew as whipping twine.

In Telecom it used to be called lacing twine.
Dental floss is fairly close and can be used.

i used this in the defence industry we called it waxed lacing cord,and yes it is still available

I remember "Barbour's lacing thread" from the days of yore. Dunno if that brand name helps, but it was waxed polypropylene, so strong we used it for making crossbow strings.
Best shit in the world until they invented cable ties.
