AFM not starting up
« on: February 21, 2011, 06:50:55 PM »
G'day Lads,

Hope its something simple, but as usual no idea where to start. When you power her up, the DMD display shows the progression bar for the boot up but no text, as in the version, etc. When the status of the boot up bar is complete, you have a big fat nothing. A handful of playfield lights and thats it. No start button light and when pressing it nothing also. Any ideas?????

Regards,

Check that the CPU is getting the right power.  The "check fuses" part of clays guide tells you what to look for.  My TZ would boot through the check process and stop because the CPU was only getting enough to to turn it over but not run it.

Thanks Rads,

I got a reply on aussie arcade. I simply, and as usual embarrased as I am to say, reseated connectors on all boards. I was not sure where in particular and on which board to reseat, so hit I the lot and what do you know - the kids are going mental along with the little green fellla's as I'm typing. Happy days!!!!

Cheers,

No worries.  Glad it's going again.

Yep, pretty standard to try reseating connectors as a first port of call.

Glad you were able to fix it so easily!
