Bally "Gold Ball"
« on: February 17, 2011, 10:48:10 AM »
Just watching a video on this game by TNT and it looks like a fasinating game to play-only one sling and the gold ball play I think is awesome. Does anyone here have one and are they hard to track down in Australia they probally are as I don't think I've ever seen one on Ebay.

Thanks

Peter <..>

A later Bally Midway SS. that from all reports, it a blast to play. Todd's video explains the gameplay well. I've only seen a handful in collections, and they don't change hands often. Unfortunately, I don't own one, but I'd like to.

Hard to value this machine. Somewhere between $1600 - $2200 depending on condition

I wonder if that gold ball provides enough to make this game desirable? The game play doesn't look particularly interesting, especially when you consider games that are older such as Black Hole or Firepower etc?

It's really fun to play once you get the goldball on the field, the lights flash, the sounds change (I think thats a DIP setting) , and score triples

I found it was not a special machine.
I've had one for a while and could barely sell it for 350 euro's.
I did however change the attrack mode of the game.
The regular model only rotates the GOLDBALL letters and has some lights lit continuously.
I've designed some other sequences for the lights.
The sounds were as if they were stolen from other games and did not have anthing special for this game.
Some sounds played downright wroung.
So, I've changed those around a little.
Together with the Field-upgrade-kit and my changes made this game a bit more fun to play.
The program changes were made by Oliver Okaegi and the ideas from me.
You can playtest the roms in PinMame (goldbalc).
