Urgent EM help needed PLEASE!
« on: April 12, 2011, 04:49:22 PM »
Hi guys,
Thought I'd start a new thread as I have just found a problem with the Volley and need it fixed ASAP

I problem arose yesterday when Nick and Nug were over, the outlane light which swaps from left to right changing scoring from 500 to 5000 when lit, was flickering and making an electrical noise, it turned out to be a switch contact not quite made fully.

I adjusted it and fixed it but another problem arose.  I'm not sure if it relates to the alternating relay 'A' that I adjusted the switch on or not.

Now, when the alternating relay is energised lighting the right outlane it fires the 5000 point relay on then off constantly until I de-energise the relay.

I have checked all the switch contacts are made when energised then the opposite contacts when de-energised.
A switch somewhere related to this must be made somewhere.
Everything else works correctly the outlane rollovers etc  !@#

Can someone please point me in the right direction,

Meanwhile I'll keep investigating using the schematic

Thanks,
Matt.

All sorted  #*#

As I thought it had to be a stuck switch, I checked the wire colour on the switch and found where it attached to the relay, I prevented the associated relay switch from closing then manually activated the relay, no problems allow it to close again then same problem.

Traced back to the switch, took a closer look at the switch found the thicker supporting blade had been pushed against the inside switch blade making it always closed.

Had me stumped for a little while as it still scored the 500 points when unlit, I'm not used to one rollover having two sets of switches to check   *.*

Glad it was an easy fix  *%*
