Colour of SMB cabinet:
Artwork has a linseed finish over it which yellows over time. Because of this all SMB will be slightly green looking.
There are several places on my cabinet that have this finish lifted and showing original colour underneath... this is the colour you should spray your cabinet and then a simple polyurathane finish will complete an authentic looking restoration.
The Blue is not a true Pantone colour.
It sits between PANTONE PROCESS BLUE C and PANTONE 307C.
you can go to any paint shop and get Pantone Process Blue match ( serious paint shop)... its a blue tone that is used for a mix to make a range of blues... almost a darker royal blue.
Pantone 307C is process blue 98.5 parts to black 1.5 parts.
To make SMB colour i would make 99.5 parts process blue to 0.5 parts black.Use a large turkey baster type syringe and mix 500 ml process blue to 2.5ml black... youll have 500ml of SMB colour.
Make sure your black is a black TINT - NOT just a tin of black... its different stuff... black tint is very much stronger when mixing.
Good luck!!
