Is a rare German Kiss Pinball over priced at $9999

I saw a RARE, not many made German Kiss Pinballs Mint Condition really worth $9999 (on ebay tonight) considering it's not the original logo?

in fact it IS the original logo.

KISS was released into the German market with this BG so as to comply with German laws that prohibit the use of the SS [ZZ] (Secret Service) insignia.

This machine is a standard production machine.

Well they certainly are not as collectible as any other KISS version.... why would a KISS fan want the German version?

Its a bit of a sport these days to pick holes in restored KISS machines... ill leave all that to the KISS officionados.... but i cant help wondering why the pic of the rebuilt power supply?
Only some of the femaleMolex connectors have been replaced... you can also see the rebuild on the rectifyers etc.... in all honesty, why wouldnt you just replace with the new BALLY power board at $100 or so?

But question remains..... as $10K is it overpriced?  LOL- cors it bloody is!

Disregard the price and judging the machine on the photos, it is a MUCH better effort than the POS "Best KISS since the last one I didn't sell", that is relisted every two months by another seller.

Cabinet is REALLY nice, playfield is a repro and looks nice. I like the healthy competition with the reference to the "sticker overlay crap".

Electronics - Gav - you are right, I would have soldered in a GPE rectifier board for $100. Takes less time than replacing the one or two connectors.

Not sure what the IPDB comments are referring to, but no Bally playfields were ever made in Germany. They were all made in the Bally Factory in the USA. They were producing German playfields and backglasses for EMs in the 60's. So the German "ss" machine was produced in the USA for export to the German market. As far as the "SS" in the "KISS" logo is concerned, that was outlawed in Germany, and the record company had to repackage the album covers for the German Market. The first three KISS albums were released in the USA, then they reissued the first three albums in Germany after the success of the "Alive" album (1975). KISS' record company (Casablanca) did not release any of the original logo albums into the German market, the only way they made it to Germany was via imports of USA pressings.

On face value, the effort is a LOT better than the other seller. It IS a KISS machine, but KISS collectors don't see the German machine as a "must have". So I don't think it will get near the asking price. If this game was the USA version, then I'd say it MIGHT get close to $10,000. I know some KISS fans that have that kind of money, but only for the USA version.

Great effort and MUCH better that the usual poor efforts over the last few years. At least the description is FACTUAL and not "hot air".

Interesting to follow this particular game.

Even though (as someone else pointed out) some of the pictures are NOT of the actual machine (Overlay does not have white in the GI areas).

"This will be an Excellent buy and Investment for one lucky bidder... you may have noticed that someone is asking 10K just for the German version"

I would not pay $1500 for an overlay on a KISS machine.
