Early 80's Bally component assembly diagrams
« on: June 21, 2011, 04:20:13 PM »
Hi guys

I want to do a flipper rebuild for my Skateball and the manual doesn't have the assembly detail for the flippers. I more specifically am after the parts list so I can work out what to buy to do the rebuild. Does anyone know where I can get flipper assembly diagram and parts list and if possible all playfield assemblies for this game or this era of Bally.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

The pinall resource sell a full kit if anyone is placing an order get them to tack one on for you.    If it's the same style as paragon I can sell you my let I have here and get another one whenever someone is doing an order.  Paragon is way off getting any attention

You wouldn't have a drawings and parts list by any chance.

Hi Jady,

I have the Bally 1980-1 Parts Catalogue (which covers Skateball), and have scanned a PDF image of the relevant page showing the flipper assembly.  I will PM you the details.

The parts list will be invaluable, but the only place that sells the parts at PBR. You can buy the parts individually, but it will cost less to buy the kit. Skateball and Paragon don't share the same parts.

I will be placing another order with them in 3-4 weeks (When the GTB front doors are finished), if that's any help - PM me with what you need.

Nino, the Paragon parts will indeed fit, and in my opinion do a better job %$%  I hate the Bally linear flipper system, and changed my Centaur to the crank system without any problems, well until I needed the crank parts for a different game so I swapped them out again!  You just need to install a full flipper kit from PBR in the existing base plates.

cheers

They "can fit", and they may well indeed do a better job, but they are not factory. I'd much rather have Stern assemblies in Ballys because of that reason, but I tend to keep things original.

But yes - you are correct, Ian  ^^^
