Yeah I twisted the two power wires together, You taught me this lesson last time when we found a blown coil on this very machine:)
The 5A lasted so there may now not be a short not sure. To be certain I will get a replacement coil and replace the one that is now not working and will re-connect the one that I have taken off to see if that was the problem also.

Once again you have got me going. Thanks heaps. I can't believe it was the power supply all along. I have now learnt that the under play field fuses control the coils, so if the machine ever stops working again, I will at least know where to look.
