More & More members
« on: June 24, 2011, 04:17:37 PM »
Hi All,

It seems almost DAILY that i login and see a NEW member-name appear in the top-menu.

Awesome stuff, just shows the strength & growth of this place.

A BIG hand to the Admin, and users alike, who are obviously doing all the right things.
(unlike a lot of shyte forums i've been on, that fall apart).

It would be good if alot of the new members did the famous "sunday questionaire" post with the usual 20 questions. A great way to learn about new people.

Apart from the Sunday questionaire, photos of any members pinball machines is always very popular.  ^^^

The Sunday questionaire should be something that gets sent to all new members as an invitation to answer the Q's....
maybe even an auto-post upon the account being created....

New members do get a welcome email, and sometimes I send a PM inviting a post, but really, if people want to lurk, let them - when they feel the need to drop a line they can see we're a welcoming bunch.

Spot on, nick. This forum is serving it's purpose. Lots of free advice, good people, great stories and experiences. Most of all, it promotes the preservation of pinball in many different ways. If any new members want to participate or become lurkers - that's up to them. "Sunday Questionairre" is still there, and anyone is welcome to add their answers.

I've had the pleasure of meeting a lot of really good people from the forum that I might otherwise have not met.

is it much of a player stud? definitely an interesting looking game though. my genesis is of the biblical variety, a story that explains the beginning.

Perhaps you should have simply asked about the site's history, in simple terms?? ;-)

Genesis of the site? Let's see: a few people who used to inhabit AA decided that the pinball community of Australia would be well-served by a dedicated pinball forum, with an emphasis on restoration and assisting members with repairs. So they created AP and it has been very successful.

That's my take on it, anyway.

A lot of people hang out on both AA and AP, some stick to AP only. Whatever suits the individual.
