BALLY ELECTRA HELP REQUIRED
« on: August 04, 2011, 08:02:21 PM »
Hi all I've been off work with a chest infection so I've been stuck in the house soni decided to try and get elektra up and running.

Firstly how many balls should be installed?  There is one in the lower playfield how many in the main playfield?

With one ball installed it boots up start a game and it seems to lock up no ball is ejected and the playfield lights all stop.??

I've tried installing two balls with the same result.   All coils fire in coil test any thoughts?

No, The machine only plays with one ball for under the apron...
Use this: http://www.ipdb.org/files/778/Bally_1981_Elektra_Manual.pdf
I'm sure you will find it useful unless you already have a printed version !@#
Anyway, good luck %$%

Elektra has two balls on the main playfield.  If it does not go with two balls installed, put the machine in switch test mode and confirm that all the trough switches are working.

cheers
Ian

Thanks Ian
Sorted the problem of it locking up was jammed on switches. Strange switch test setup.   For some reason the drop target reset coil had been cut and a piece of Perspex put over the drop targets? WTF...

Also the ball in the lower plAyfield makes it hard lol

Yes, to use switch test you have to remove the ball from ths bottom playfield.  You see some strange 'fixes' on machines, perhaps it will become more obvious when you try and put things back to normal what they were hoping to achieve with this interesting mod :D
