Price check on GnR
« on: November 05, 2011, 07:07:00 PM »
I would like some advise on the price rang for a GnR machine please.I know Blair recently sold his and i was offered the chance to buy it before he listed it for sale. The condition report he gave me was a very honest one and was the same as he put up on AP.I was after one in a bit better condition without a couple of the things he had listed in the bad comments part.Anyway i have come accross another one of which i have not seen any pics of yet,but a ball park figure for one with a nice playfied with no wear, cab with not much fade, all plastics and ramps ect in good nick, playfield stripped and cleaned ect would be worth ?.I am caught in a toss up at the moment,as i like this title but do i wait and see what the ACDC pin comes up like  !@#.I was thinking around the 5k to 6k mark,as i would not pay a stupid price for one. Thanks Tony.

I have one that will be finished in about 2 weeks. No playfield wear. Axl hole protector. Works 100%. Ken Shipley on central coast repaired all electrical problems. Magnets work . Cabinet and head stripped and brand new decals are on! Plus 2nd set of head decals included (New) D.M.D 100%. I am going to Ebay it starting $5000 no reserve. A bit pricey maybe but a beautiful machine. No issues. Located in Newcastle. Call if interested. Mark. 0414 49 49 49.

I have seen a few GNR sell recently. Between 5 and 6 grand. No more . no less.

There are some BEAUTIFUL full cabinet decal/sets getting around Melbourne which can be purchased. Its always hard to find a GNR that doesnt have some sort of wear.

Some would argue the machine is only a $4500 machine, but others would argue its worth $5500 all day. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  ^^^

I think $5000 is a reasonable price for a respectable game. Worth between $4500 - $5500.

Sounds like a very nice one. I didn't know you could get new artwork for gunners. Could you post some photos here when it's finished ??

I know everyone's taste is different but I have got a Funhouse machine here at the moment that I will be minding for a while.  I just had plenty of games on it and then turned my GnR on and had one game...........for me, GnR shat all over Funhouse.

Always hard to gauge price without seeing the machine but I would like to think that a fully working GnR machine, with a nice playfield and solid cabinet, would start around the $5k mark and nudge $6k for an exceptional example of one with a topper.

Tough call though.  GnR is a tried, tested and proven machine as far as I am concerned.  Yes it has it's issues here and there as every machine does, but once sorted it is a great game.  A new Stern machine on the other hand??????????  Done right, AC/DC will be a cracker and a great investment.

I would say grab a GnR, you will always be able to on-sell it later on and get your money back as long as you buy it for a fair price.

My machine 4 sale has a topper included but flimsy like all of them are. Decals  where bought from U.S.A and are perfect.

Gunners is a great pinball, if you're a fan of the band, you will find this title hard to move on.

$5,000 to $6,000 all day long for this machine in good overall condition, topper alone sells for $300 to $400 depending on condition, over the years I've seen a few project gunners sell for $3,000 to $3,500.

This pin is Data East's best pinball imo.
