Why are there so many Kiss pins around atm? More than you can poke a stick at it seems.
Are the kiss army falling off the tree?

Simply because one or two overpriced machines have appeared on eBay, with the usual "spin" about being "rare" etc etc.. There is almost ALWAYS a KISS on eBay all year round. They NEVER sell for $10,000 -although I know of one that did years ago.

KISS Army are a crazy bunch (I know - I'm one of them), and most fans I know do have the cash to spend on a quality game, but not $10,000 for a machine that is not done properly.

Same happened when Evel Knievel died. This was a $1500-$1800 pinball. He died and the next machine sold for $3500.

Playboy will be the same - Once Hugh passes away, the machine will double in value.

Strangely enough, Rolling Stones (The classic Bally) is worth $3500 maximum. Half the value of KISS. I know a Dolly Parton fan that asked me for a Dolly Parton pinball recently - Her recent tour brought the fanbase out.

kiss fans are usually collectors of kiss merch, simmons has always been a good marketer for his merchandise. and he promotes the shit out of his collection of kiss stuff, he even sells kiss stuff out of his own house to friends he has like a personal ministore of kiss stuff he sells to who visit his house. rolling stones people are diehard but it isnt like kiss as far as the amount of merchanise arou nd and not as promoted as hard, im not a kiss fan by any stretch but have a prety good idea what sort of shit he sells, i know gene was even selling kiss coffins. there are certain bands that attract people to collect kiss is one of the most well known, and they hold the the kiss pinball as a pride of their  collection if they have one and more than often they arent pinball collectors just kiss merch collectors. having said that $10grand for what isnt that rare, i know about 5 hard core kiss fans and they all have one. im 30 years of age so the number of kiss fans i know is limited but they are insane about collecting this  crap. wouldnt pay that sort of money i wouldn't think.  not being a kiss fan the game is of little interest to me and might be the same to most pin fans who arent kiss fans.

i should also state, having a pinball in our shop, starts allot of convo's with people coming in, kiss fans are very quick to inform me they have a kiss pinball. lol they should make a shirt saying "i have a kiss pinball"

dont worry i collect crap from a band i like, bit like kiss as far as making eye apealing crap you must have. they dont however make dolls and pinballs and that sort of thing, but they do have these very limited extremely hard to find records they release in small batches every now and again, and you seem to think you must have it, and that if you see for sale you buy, as you will never get another chance to own lol. or as one of the band members is an artist they sell signed art at their concerts with like releases of ten and no more, and which if you go to a concert you wait at the gate till they open the merch booth on the off chance you can buy it, lol so i know how passionate you can get over band merch. little less mainstream than kiss and nothing is mass produced so having to work very hard to get any sort of collection is hard sometimes. lucky they dont make pinball and coffins and none of that, because, art, vynals, cd's and dvd's take up much less room, lol

You know me all too well Pete  *%*

Happy for people to play the ball, not the man. I'm the FIRST to admit KISS is a horrible player. I think the "KISS fan" is an entirely different breed of fans that other bands envy.
