Elvira ATPM - what are they worth
« on: December 18, 2011, 10:53:57 PM »
More out of curiousity in relation to the other thread running, noticed there was a Elvira ATPM listed on ebay but within a few hours of being listed the other day am sure the the buy now price went from $3.5 to $4K.

What are these machines actually worth? I know they are rare and a collectors to some but is this price expensive or a good buy?

Are they classified as a SS or very early DMD - sorry just don't know much about this era of machine.

I paid $800 for the one I gave Dad a few years ago (could use a new playfield)

Pinpedia has them at
USD $1,650    Ohio, United States    25 October, 2011
USD $1,595    Pennsylvania, United States    12 October, 2011
USD $815    South Carolina, United States    19 September, 2011

add a bit to import.

This is the same seller who had a Black SM on ebay a couple months ago and jerked ppl around on price after pulling
the auction. In the end he wanted $16K for it.

I consider a fair price for this title in average condition to be $2 to $2.5, in really good condition maybe $3k PLUS, in my opinion EATPM is as collectable as a Black Knight 2000, & just as difficult to find in good condition.
Pinballs in my collection Elvira, Stern Grand Prix, Bally Corvette, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Judge Dredd, Black Rose and Data East Guns n Roses.

Yeh, I agree with you there Leon. Elvira is a hugely liked title. The benchmark for machines like Scared Stiff to copy from.

So many people want one but you just dont see many around. The decals for them look T'Riffic. I got a set for our mate Martyn as u know from Illinois Pinball and the new decals are beautifully done. I think I know what I will buy you for your birthday now.  #@#

Spot on Leon. A really collectible game. BK2000, EATPM and Sword of Fury are great players.

The rarer titles around this era include Transporter and Atlantis (on my wish list).

Did a search and this one came up in Brisbane, but ad says sold. $1400 from a dealer.

http://www.arcade80s.com.au/sales_/index.php?method=showdetails&list=advertisement&rollid=311&fromfromlist=classifiedscategory&fromfrommethod=showhtmllist&fromfromid=12

I have dealt with this guy before. the $1400 must be a typo. He would have charged $1400 just for the flipper buttons, excluding the machine. Usually, he wants full retail plus plus plus. Cant see him ever selling the Elvira for only $1400. Something not right there.

The prices on some of these titles is creeping up because everyone wants them, and its difficult to find a spare one, cause people are just hanging on to hard to get machines. If they get sold/listed. a friend of the collector will usually get first options on it, so u just dont see that many for sale really. Its a funny market the pinball market. The normal rules of economy and capitalism usually prevail, but sometimes those rules are thrown out the window. It makes the treasure hunt just that more satisfying sometimes.  ^^^

I am unsure of the value/price of this pin in the current market but to me like all other sys 11 games I wouldn't pay more that 2.5k for one. It's not a bad game at all, good player and I can see why some are chasing one.
I do know that it would not cost anywhere near as much as what Elviras boob job did!( insert ritchie benaud voice...) Super fake rack that!! :D
