And they happen in threes, two more for sale out of the second batch of 200. Both listed on pinside around the $15k, both sold already. Two for the price of one.

I do appreciate the uniqueness of the protos, but the truth is the re-issues are better made and will need less upkeep. I haven't touched mine since new (aside from playing it!!). I thought the going rate for the protos was mid $20s, this would set a new high.

I think its crazy to have so much money tied up in a single machine, but whatever flips your bat I suppose.

Would have thought a BBB would be worth $15,000 in the crappy economy at best, say down from 20k. ?

Nick, does anyone have any recent australian sales/figures for BBB from ebay or somewhere publicly listed ? What was a BBB worth brand new when they did the run ?

I know before Gene made the "repo" BBB that on the very rare times that one of the Original 13 Big Bangs went up for sale that they went for 25 grand,
Kingpin went for around the same price

New price was $4,500.00 US (our dollars was worth .60 or .70 though, so a lot more to Aussie buyers back then).

I doubt there's any public figures. Only Greg and I were in the first run, and one member here has brought one in from the US privately, and a couple came over with a dealer so those prices won't reflect the collector market (no that I know them).
