very correct Wotto. I have an example below from someone who believes in Ebay prices.
I had a lady contact me about a FISHTALES she had in her family.
It had the typical badly faded cabinet everywhere. It needed fulll strip down and clean. It needed new rubbers everywhere, and everything checked over etc. The machine was playing/starting etc, but it had been sitting for several years in a back room. The playfield was fine.
I told her the machine was worth $1800 to $2200 as it was, and not a penny more. She said it was worth at least $4000 to $4800 because "thats how much they are on Ebay for". I told her nicely she was dreaming. I told her how I bought my FISHTALES for $2200 and it was immaculate and needed nothing except a re-decal. The lady also told me her machine was very very rare and that they are so hard to find in Australia. I told her they made over 15,000 and it was a easy machine to purchase. I then asked her how much she paid for the machine. She said $1500. I said why are u stuffing me around and asking $4800 then ? thats when I decided to say goodbye and hang up. Ebay pricing for pinnys, yeh right.
